The main instruments of tantra shatras are the deity, mantra, yantra and the ingredients (samagri), certain herbs and amulets . Various scientific factors like Astronomy, Astrology, Anatomy, Ayurveda, Geometry etc are certain basic principles applied during the pujas.

In kali yuga tantric rituals works better than vedic rituals. In the present time nobody is able to follow the procedures laid down by Vedic rituals which is very elaborate. Purity of mind and body is the basic need in vedic rituals as opposed to tantric rituals. Again vedic mantras are different from tantric mantras .The vedic mantras may not have the same potency as that of tantric mantras in todays scenario.

Now a days the pujas are performed is Mishra marg i.e. mixed vedic rituals with tantric rituals. That is the cause of not getting the desired outcome from the anusthana/puja.
